Jt is a backpacker's dream to finally see the Great Pyramids. Egypt was an abrupt change from the comfortable familiarity of Europe. It was absolutely necessary for women to cover their shoulders and ankles. The culture shock, however, was eased by the unbelievably inexpensive tours. My favorite experiences included descending alone into an ancient tomb and sailing the Nile River at sunset.
