Compared to other major cities I've visited, Shenzhen does not draw as many tourists. Instead, the average age of its population is just 33 years old, with most people emigrating from other countries to work in technology. In the city's metropolitan area, English speakers can be found. While this part of Shenzhen is more westernized, a large Chinese population still frequently spits in the streets. It is their belief that phlegm is toxic to the body.
